Position Description

CORE DUTIES

Candidate Sourcing:

  • Be a brand ambassador and work with other Hawkins Construction staff on social media, brand marketing, etc.
  • Maximize our exposure in currently identified recruited sources (referrals, career fairs, job advertisements/postings).
  • Evaluate current job descriptions and help modify as necessary for recruiting needs.
  • Hiring for the following positions: Construction Craft Workers, Field Engineers, Superintendents, Project Managers, and as-needed positions.

Candidate Screening and Evaluation:

  • Contact and recruit all candidates – including initial marketing, persuasion, and culture fit.
  • Assist candidates with the evaluation via Hawkins Construction assessments.
  • Conduct initial interviews as needed.

Relationship Management:

  • Fully grasp Hawkins’ corporate strategies, including growth initiatives.
  • Work with HR and the Executive Team to ensure that our workforce needs are fully accounted for in all major Hawkins planning. Further develop specific recruiting strategies consistent with broader Company goals.
  • Work with HR personnel placement team to ensure you know all current needs and potential future needs.

Process Management:

  • Final interviews (for higher level candidates) and job offers by other HR staff. Onboarding by HR staff with recruiter transition assistance.
  • Maintain a list of potential candidates for future jobs.
  • Create and regularly update a skills depth chart.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the recruitment process.
  • Establish and regularly update an accurate market wage data collection and analysis system.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Create and expand NEW sources, especially ground level, grassroots efforts. Innovation and creativity are highly encouraged!

PAST EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in agency or in-house recruiting.
  • Recruiting both craft and front-line level employees as well as a management staff
  • Recruiting via direct contact – must have experience beyond online searching.
  • Exposure to the construction industry, ideally with work experience.
  • Compensation negotiation
  • Employment law education (including in house, seminar, etc.)
